There are few life choices that are more difficult than determining if it is time to find full time senior care for a parent or other family member. Sometimes it is the combination of not being physically able to provide the necessary assistance for that family member or finally realizing that she/he needs 24 care and protection that forces us to decide to go ahead with planning such a move. Trying to make that decision and then finding out what the next steps we need to take can be polarizing.
Where do we even start to find out what type of care is available in a geographical area that makes sense for our family; how do we go about starting the process, what are the costs, what’s the difference between Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, Home Health Care, etc., how do we evaluate such a facility to make sure it is the right one?
Some of my clients ask me to list a property for sale that belongs to their parent because it is time for a move to a more protective environment for their mother and/or father. They will tell me about their journey to locate the best senior care. It’s always heartbreaking to hear the anguish that my clients have gone through to make those decisions and then what they must investigate and learn to feel anywhere near comfortable following through with the necessary tasks and procedures.
I have become aware of a website that provides a ton of information in one place. I wanted to share that link for the site with you so that if you, someone in your family or a friend needs to know what is available, you are able to access a ton of information in one place.
